Central West End Cocktail Party
On Saturday, June 8 the CWE Cocktail Party returns!
The CWE is home to what many have claimed as the first cocktail party on record — held in 1917 by Mrs. Julius S. Walsh Jr. in her home at 4510 Lindell Boulevard. Each year, the CWE pays tribute to this very important anniversary and celebrates the neighborhood's history in style!
There will be aerial performances, fire dancers, unicyclists, dancing, cotton candy, and yours truly painting live throughout the event all evening!
The event will also feature music by Marquis Knox, Grooveliner, Sarah Jane, and the Blue Notes and Monkh.

Gateway to Pride Exhibition
On June 8th Missouri History Museum will open its newest exhibit, Gateway to Pride, to mark the start of Pride Month. The pioneering exhibition delves into the vibrant and often overlooked and excluded narrative of LGBTQIA+ individuals in St. Louis.
Running through July 6th, 2025, Gateway to Pride marks the first-ever full-scale exhibit dedicated to St. Louis’s LGBTQIA+ community, offering visitors an opportunity to explore this rich history through meaningful artifacts, captivating images, and insightful oral histories.
I am proud to announce that my piece “A Melancholy Romance, Op. 2” along with two new portraits to be featured in the exhibition. Please join me for the opening of this exhibition!

Doorways Presents: ALT BALL
For 35 years, DOORWAYS has provided emergency housing and supportive services for individuals in our community living with HIV. Their programs serve clients at the complicated intersection of illness, homelessness, and poverty—each with several basic needs required to regain stability in their lives: shelter, household goods, food, etc.
For clients, these basics represent refuge, safety, and support amidst an incredibly difficult time. Along with the wraparound services DOORWAYS provides, they form a foundation upon which they can build; an opportunity to move from surviving to thriving.
‘Beauty From The Basics’ is a celebration of all that can flourish from this foundation. Simple necessities are often overlooked. Small comforts—otherwise taken for granted—can mean so much to someone seeking stability. Housewares, personal care items, and objects that make a house a home. These can take on outsized importance to a life in transition. For many, they act as the building blocks to realizing their greater potential.
ALTBALL reimagines these supplies, turning them into dynamic and avant-garde fashions. Designers, artists, drag queens, ballroom legends and community volunteers will showcase creations on the runway while raising funds to meet the needs of DOORWAYS’ programs.
Join us for a killer evening of community, fashion, and performance on May 16, 2024.
